It was a danced theatrical play, wich startes with an instrumental 'ouverture' and ended with a 'grand ballet'.

It consisted of a series of 'entrées' or scenes in which the singing and the dancing were mixed.

Dancers, only male at first, were decorates with luxurious clothes and masks.
